Jongsoo Kim

ABSTRACT :
The Korean ALMA project began in 2012 with a Memorandum of Understanding between KASI and NAOJ, followed by a Memorandum of Agreement in 2014 with NAOJ and NINS. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Korean ALMA project. Korean researchers have been submitting ALMA proposals since Cycle 2. In 2015, the KASI ALMA group was established to support the Korean community and develop in-kind contributions to ALMA. Their activities include organizing town hall meetings, quality assurance, and phase 2 group. They have successfully conducted ALMA data reduction summer schools for students and postdocs. In 2022, a GPU spectrometer developed in collaboration with the NAOJ was delivered to ALMA and has been in use since October 2023. An upgrade project for the spectrometer has commenced to meet the Wideband Sensitivity Upgrade (WSU) requirements. Additionally, a wideband receiver combining ALMA bands 7 and 8 was developed and delivered to NAOJ, now in use for the development of WSU band 8 receivers.
