Hands-on projects for the 5th ALMA Summer School

Group 1 (Yusuke Aso): This group will study the disk and the envelope around the Class I protostars using C18O and 13CO J=3-2 and 2-1 lines at a 30 au resolution. The multi-band data sets will also enable us to investigate what structures the continuum emission traces at 1.3 and 0.9 mm.

Group 2 (Aran Lyo): Physical properties and kinematics of circumstellar disk using continuum (1.25mm) and 12CO(2-1) line emissions (DSHAP Band 6 data)

Group 3 (Jihyun Kang): Study of high-mass star-forming regions using ALMAGAL Band 6 survey data. We will practice to make dust continuum image and SiO line cube. Also, we will practice the rotation diagram to derive the temperature and column density using multi line transitions of CH3OH/CH3CN.

Group 4 (Min-Young Lee): To study the physical conditions of the "Dark Neutral Medium (DNM)" that is not traced by CO(1-0) emission, we will examine HCO+ absorption spectra toward continuum sources located behind the Chameleon molecular cloud in the Milky Way (reference: Liszt et al. 2018, A&A, 617, 54).
